About The Position

Afognak Native Corporation has an opening for a Corporate Affairs Manager located at our corporate office in Kodiak, Alaska. The Corporate Affairs Manager is responsible for supporting strategic initiatives and managing projects that strengthen the Corporation's relationships with key partners, increase positive community impacts, foster sustainable and culturally based development, and help to achieve our purpose.

Requirements

  • High school diploma with at least ten years' experience in an Alaska Native Village Corporation in the Kodiak region required.
  • Experience in customer or partner relations preferred.
  • Experience with records management preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication required, with strong working knowledge of business English, spelling and punctuation; office practices, procedures and documents.
  • Proficient in Adobe and all MS Office Programs, including Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Able to exercise good judgement and recognize and respect confidentiality on corporate and Board matters.
  • Must work well in team environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize work effectively.
  • Able to balance multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record, to qualify as an authorized driver under the Corporation's established auto and insurance policy requirements.
  • Able to adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate projects to increase positive community impacts and strengthen partner relations.
  • Support efforts to digitize and organize corporate records to improve our ability to be strategic and tell our corporate story in a compelling way.
  • Assist the SVP of Community Investments with coordinating and liaising with Shareholder Services, Lands and Natural Resources, Communications, and Cultural Affairs Teams to develop and achieve strategic goals.
  • Provide Kodiak region support and corporate representation where appropriate for Community Investments Team programs.
  • Identify ways to improve efficiencies and effectiveness of teams within the Community Investments portfolio.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
