Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) has an immediate opening for a Corporate Accounting Supervisor located at Columbus General Office in Columbus, Nebraska. Position closes May 17 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time. This position will report to the Controller. Position SummaryThe incumbent is responsible for leading the development and implementation of accounting policies, processes, and activities for the maintenance and reporting of timely, accurate, and complete accounts, records, and financial statements for the District and its Trusts consistent with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), District standards, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) requirements, contracts and agreements, debt covenants, and/or laws and regulations. This position leads activities related to certain regulatory compliance activities and tax filings. The incumbent leads the financial and accounting responsibilities for financial activity with the Southwest Power Pool (SPP), The Energy Authority, and any other equity investments by the District. The position ensures up-to-date documented standards and procedures are in place with effective internal controls and supports internal and external audit activities. The incumbent leads and/or assists with special projects and develops and maintains effective relationships within the District and with external parties. The incumbent is responsible for providing excellent customer service by the team and for promoting optimal performance and a safe, positive work environment for high employee engagement.
