About The Position

The Corporate Accounting Manager is a key role responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of a multilocation ethnic food and beverage distribution business. This position ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and efficient financial management across all operating companies. The manager will lead a team, implement standard operating procedures, and provide insights to support decision-making at the executive level.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a management role.
  • Experience in the food and beverage distribution industry, particularly in a direct store delivery (DSD) model, is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP or IFRS and experience with financial statement preparation and consolidation.
  • Proven experience in managing multi-location accounting operations and working with operating companies.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Familiarity with risk management strategies and insurance policies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the company's corporate accounting operations and two small operating companies, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS.
  • Assist in the consolidation of financial statements for multiple operating locations.
  • Report financial results to the CFO and provide insights and analysis to support decision-making.
  • Coordinate with the heads of various operating companies to ensure accounting practices align with corporate objectives.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for accounting operations across all locations.
  • Monitor and manage working capital, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory management.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing financial forecasting support.
  • Analyze financial performance against key business metrics and provide actionable insights to senior management.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with annual external audits and respond to audit findings.
  • Lead and develop the accounting team, providing guidance and support for professional growth.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the accounting team.
  • Coordinate training programs to keep the team updated on accounting regulations and best practices.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and software.
  • Identify and manage financial risks, including currency, credit, and market risks.
