About The Position
The Corporate Accounting Manager is a key member of the Asset Living corporate accounting team. This position reports to the Deputy Controller and is responsible for many aspects of day-to-day operations and financial reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor and/or Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Previous experience leading or managing a team of accountants
- Excellent critical reasoning, quantitative, and analytical skills
- Deep understanding of financial concepts
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proven organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent project management skills and ability to execute initiatives while balancing day to day objectives
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills including advanced formulas, lookup functions (e.g. XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP or equivalents), data sorting and filtering, and Pivot Tables
Nice To Haves
- CPA Eligible or CPA Preferred
- Experience with NetSuite a plus
Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day corporate accounting operations including calculation and billing of fees and reimbursable expenses to customers and revenue recognition.
- Review revenue-related journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with US GAAP
- Analyze revenue general ledger accounts as part of the month-end close process; investigate variances and resolve issues timely
- Identify billing discrepancies or margin anomalies and implement corrective actions, as needed.
- Respond to internal and external questions regarding billing discrepancies and authorize credit memos, as appropriate
- Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, Billing, FP&A) to support accurate revenue reporting and a shared-services delivery model
- Prepare audit and tax related requests
- Drive consistency and month end close process standardization across the Asset Living regions
- Lead in development of new processes and procedures to improve month end close and financial reporting
- Develop and maintain proper procedures in technical accounting areas such as revenue recognition and prepare accounting memos when necessary
- Support M&A in the areas of onboarding acquisitions and post-merger integration activities
- Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, Billing, FP&A) to support accurate revenue reporting and a shared-services delivery model · Supervise, coach, and mentor a team of 1 to 4 direct reports, fostering development, accountability, and performance
