Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by compiling information, preparing profit and loss statements, and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures.

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years’ experience within an accounting/bookkeeping environment.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Must be able to pass background investigation and drug test screening.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Must successfully complete all required courses, classes, and training provided by MMS.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team, as well as complete assignments independently.
  • Must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able perform duties under pressure and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Display the ability to think critically and suggest solutions for financial problems.
  • Must have the ability to work in automated computer platforms.
  • Must display strong ability to work within MS Office packages, specifically MS Excel and Word.
  • Must prioritize and manage daily workload to ensure successful completion.
  • Take instructions from supervisors.
  • Interact with co-workers, supervisors, and vendors in a professional and pleasant manner.
  • Must have excellent written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements utilizing GAAP accounting principles.
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions.
  • Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
  • Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents.
  • Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels, and ensure expenditure control.
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Recommend, develop and maintain financial data bases, computer software systems and manual filing systems.
  • Supervise the input and handling of financial data and reports for the company's automated financial systems.
  • Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
