About The Position

This position is responsible for supervising all as a unit or section. They are distinguished from the Public Safety Captain in that they are assigned overall responsibility for a division. At times may be assigned as a division Corporal responsible for a division within the department. Direct and coordinate operation activities and initiatives of all public safety forces. Requirements

  • High School Degree (or GED)
  • Two (2) years (or equivalent) supervisory experience.
  • Must pass periodic random drug screens.
  • Must be able to pass background suitability investigation.
  • Must obtain a Tribal Gaming License.
  • Must obtain all other applicable certifications and licenses.
  • Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States within 72 hours of employment.
  • Must obtain CPR, First Aid and AED Certification upon hire
  • Must possess and maintain a current Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Guard Card
  • Must possess and maintain a current Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Firearms Permit
  • Must possess and maintain a current Baton Permit
  • Must possess and maintain a current Chemical Agent Permit

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service to guests and all other employees by exceeding our mission statement.
  • Deliver our Five Star Experience to Guests and all Team Members by embodying our Mission Statement and Service Promise while adhering to department service standards. This entails consistency performing our service expectations of: Welcoming, Proactive, Seamless, Personalized and Valued.
  • Conduct roll call of subordinates.
  • Relay orders and messages from superior.
  • Inspect police logbooks to ascertain that information is recorded in conformance with regulations.
  • Assists subordinates in performance of duties.
  • Record information identifying arrested suspect in logbook and advises prisoner of charges.
  • Perform inspection tours of police beats.
  • Receive, investigate and make proper disposition of complaints.
  • Assign, review, evaluate, correct, and forward criminal, injury, traffic and miscellaneous incident reports. Responsible for final disposition and filing of all related case reports at the discretion of the Public Safety Director or established policy.
  • Assist the VP of Public Safety in carrying out projects and tasks requiring advanced knowledge of and/or experience in specialized areas including patrol, traffic, investigations, deployment strategies, crime prevention, data collection and special programs.
  • Assume command and management of crime scenes, emergency situations, sectors, and areas when required of a Senior Staff Corporal.
  • Supervise special teams, details, and task forces.
  • Evaluate practices, standards, and regulations; submits reports for change, review, and/or modification.
  • Serve as technical advisor to Corporal under his/her command.
  • Recommend budgetary items for capital expenditures and monthly budgetary management within areas under his/her command.
  • Maintain excellent communications with all Directors and Managers.
  • Implements approved departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the budget for the department is monitored and adhered to.
  • Prepare necessary data for the budget in area of responsibility.
  • Keep abreast of competitive changes including industry trends and local competitive set.
  • Develop, maintain and nurture a positive work environment.
  • Responsible for maintaining a disciplined environment and implement practices that promote safety, quality and productivity.
  • Supervise training, assignments and development of subordinates.
  • Ensure compliance with all Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) as well as all Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS).
  • Present a positive image of the Tribal organization to its guests and vendors and to assist them as required.
  • Must follow all safety policies and procedures and attend all scheduled safety meetings and training as a condition of employment.
  • Able to make difficult decision in a fair and honest manner.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
