About The Position

The Associate Communications & Engagement Manager at Kroger is responsible for developing and implementing strategic internal communication plans that align with the company's purpose and business priorities. This role focuses on enhancing associate engagement and communication, driving business results, and promoting the company's core values. The manager will create compelling content and lead initiatives that inspire associates to improve customer experiences while acting as a communications consultant for division leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of corporate communications experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

  • 3+ years of corporate communications experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience with human resources and organizational change.
  • Print production and web content management experience.
  • Experience in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic internal communication plans and initiatives.
  • Execute corporate internal communications initiatives to improve associate engagement and communication.
  • Create and implement strategies to bring the company's purpose to life every day.
  • Lead the creation of internal communications that inspire associates to adopt behaviors that improve customer experience.
  • Support the Corporate Affairs story engine by creating compelling content that increases associates' commitment to the company.
  • Act as a communications consultant for division leaders with guidance from the Corporate Affairs manager.
  • Lead internal communications strategies and planning processes.
  • Provide strategic communications counsel and tactical support to local bargaining teams during contract negotiations.
  • Serve as e-newsletter editor in partnership with the General Office team.
  • Manage division web content for the company intranet and improve content effectiveness.
  • Produce a weekly video with Kroger Television producers that recognizes associates.
  • Manage the division's internal business social network community and host engagement events.
  • Write, edit, and produce a division magazine at least bi-monthly.
  • Support HR initiatives to drive engagement with key stakeholders across multiple channels.
  • Promote and administer the company's annual Associate Insights Survey.
  • Provide event support and content development for leadership meetings.
  • Manage the division's text messaging and alert program.
  • Oversee resources and consultants to deliver timely and accurate information.
