About The Position

Appointed by the Coronado Fitness Center Manager. Keeps premises of the Coronado Fitness Center in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties:

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in building maintenance.
  • Must have experience or willing to learn the use of audio-visual equipment.
  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Requires a valid Arkansas driver’s license and a clean driving record with proof of liability insurance.
  • Employee must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays and be able to work independently without supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, breakrooms, restrooms and other work areas.
  • Performs light building maintenance and janitorial duties.
  • Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, vacuums and polishes floors.
  • Cleans and polished lighting fixtures, floor surfaces, and trim.
  • Power wash pool area decks and locker rooms and front entrance to the facility.
  • Safely perform aerial work as needed.
  • Cleans carpets, furniture, blinds, windows and doors.
  • Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork. Mops floors.
  • Replenishes bathroom supplies. Replaces light bulbs.
  • Requires working in all types of weather conditions.
  • Must be willing to work weekends and holidays, if necessary, and be able to work independently, without supervision.
  • Pool maintenance is required.
  • May be required to drive POA vehicle or personal vehicle while conducting POA business.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Any other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service, making every effort to accommodate customer needs.
  • Ensure the safety of patrons and staff through accident prevention and safety policy, enforcing all facility and recreation location rules and regulations.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of rules, regulations, and operational use with regard to POA amenity use.
  • Maintain a safe, clean amenity/facility at all times.
  • Report to supervisor any safety materials needed or maintenance concerns.
