THE SUMMER MISSION During the summer internship, we desire to equip you to do ministry work. You will be tasked with local outreach, peer-to-peer discipleship, and mastering the logistics of weekly programs such as open gym and Wednesday nights. The goal is to help each intern discern what God is calling them to in the future, and prepare them to make disciples wherever they are. THE CORE PILLARS As an intern, your summer is built on four distinct tracks of growth: 1. Spiritual Formation (The Root) Participate in weekly "Formation Blocks" focusing on theology, prayer, and spiritual habits. Complete assigned reading on spiritual growth and present key insights to the intern cohort. Prioritize a "Sheep Before Shepherd" lifestyle—maintaining a vibrant personal walk with Jesus as the foundation for public leadership. 2. Practical Leadership (The Tool) Study and apply a leadership book selected by the team. Manage specific operational "lanes" (Administration, Hospitality, Events) to learn the mechanics of organizational leadership. Engage in weekly coaching sessions to receive and implement performance feedback. 3. Ministry Execution (The Fruit) Wednesday Nights: Help execute each summer Youth on Wednesday. Leadership Pipeline: Identify, train, and coach others to lead small groups or specialized projects. Summer Finale: Collaborate with the intern team to fully design and execute the summer Finale. 4. Movement Building (The Reach) Lead local outreach initiatives and community-focused "small-events" (picnics, sports, or block parties). Own the follow-up process for new guests to ensure they are connected to the community. WEEKLY RHYTHM Formation & Strategy: Cohort learning, staff meetings, and outreach execution. Ministry Lab: Pre-event setup, live program execution, and immediate post-event debrief. Leadership Lab: Professional development training and one-on-one coaching sessions. Flexible Hours: Relational investment and project development within the local community. JOB EVALUATION Your job description will serve as the basis for regular evaluation and coaching. Your supervisor will inspect what they expect, providing encouragement, accountability, and direction for growth in your role.
