About The Position

Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, a 2.54-mile road course located 35 minutes north of Atlanta, is recognized as one of the world's best. It hosts the 10-hour Petit Le Mans race, which concludes the IMSA schedule and is the final of four endurance races. The facility prides itself on a family-friendly atmosphere, offering a "Kids 12 & Under Are Always Free" policy. Corner Marshals are strategically stationed at various points of danger around the race track. Their core responsibilities include observing and monitoring track conditions, communicating with drivers using racing flags to warn them of track conditions, and providing assistance in the event of collisions, accidents, or other track-related issues. This role is designated as a safety-sensitive position and requires participation in the Substance Abuse Program (SAP). NASCAR, the parent organization, is the sanctioning body for the leading form of motorsports in the United States and owns 14 major motorsports entertainment facilities. It sanctions over 1,200 races annually across 11 countries and more than 30 U.S. states. Requirements

  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be willing to work weekdays and weekends, and some evenings.
  • Ability to work in all types of weather.
  • Must participate in the Substance Abuse Program (SAP).

Responsibilities

  • Observe, monitor and assess track surface conditions.
  • Provide consistent information to drivers using racing flags and signals.
  • Observe competitors for driving behavior and their cars mechanical condition.
  • Help drivers and others in an incident.
  • Communicate information to radio tower, stewards, and emergency medical responders.
