About The Position

The Field Assistant position at Cornell Botanic Gardens involves performing manual labor to assist with various landscape construction and maintenance tasks. Requirements

• Experience in supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of experience in landscape construction and equipment operation.
• Ability to safely operate a variety of hand tools and equipment.
• Must have a valid New York State driver's license and comply with Cornell's CMV program.
• Physical capability to perform manual labor and move heavy objects (over 75 lbs).
• Ability to work under varying climatic conditions and prioritize safety.

Nice To Haves

• AAS in an appropriate field.
• Experience in a public garden setting or natural areas.
• Three or more years of experience in landscape/construction industries.
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction Outreach Training Program certification.
