Leading the team responsible for ensuring our customers receive the high quality andreliability they expect in addition to enabling a design where quality is built in to scale largevolumes at capable suppliers is an incredibly challenging job requiring a broad array oftechnical and management skills. You will engage early in development to enable newtechnologies that goes across Apple Products. Description Core Technology Quality Engineers are responsible for driving quality improvement actionson future products. They enable a mass production capable manufacturing processes anddevelop plans to validate / verify new product quality at each development landmark. Theyapproach problems in an engineering method and make data driven decision. QualityEngineers also bring up capable suppliers which can execute at a high level in an ongoingbasis.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of industry experience in one or more of the following areas: product development, enclosures, castings, plastic parts, glass parts, injection molding, tooling, jigs, fixtures, or high-volume quality manufacturing engineering (e.g. Automotive, Consumer Electronics, Medical Devices, etc)
• BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent

Nice To Haves

• MS/MBA in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Mandarin language skills are a plus but not required
• Finance/business acumen (understand cost drivers and derive costs associated with managing quality)
• Reliability methods and quality sampling methodologies
• Third party production quality & process management experience
• Experience working with customers
• Project management experience

Responsibilities

• Identify and drive quality improvement opportunities in future products
• Lead Process FMEAs on new technologies and manufacturing processes
• Lead technical Failure Analysis to support root cause analysis and issue resolution
• Generate Product Quality Plan (PQP)
• Establish quality monitoring mechanism which generate meaningful metrics providing indication of outgoing quality at all nodes in supply chain
• Develop/Drive test correlation, metrology systems, sampling methods, cosmetics requirements
• Manage quality escalation and issues
• Develop capable supplier that can be both technology and scaling partners
• International Travel is required (up to 25%)
