About The Position

Lead the development, qualification and scaling of mass production automated equipment and processes for Apple’s Camera and Depth Sensing Modules. Responsible for innovating precision assembly and measurement processes, and driving continuous improvement in equipment yield, efficiency, and speed. Key stakeholder in design-for-manufacturing, process development, and assembly tolerance analysis. This work directly impacts the design, cost and quality of new, technically complex opto-electronics modules.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in precision assembly, inspection and automation equipment design and qualification.
  • Ability to travel approximately 30-35%.
  • BSME or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years in an engineering role with experience in precision assembly, inspection and automation equipment.
  • Ability to understand and build tolerance analysis for parts and assemblies.
  • Knowledgeable in crafting machine qualification requirements, design of experiments and failure analysis.
  • Understanding of machine qualification including calibration, correlation, capability, repeatability and reproducibility.
  • Effective communication skills in a worldwide environment.
  • New product introduction and Manufacturing Operations experience.
  • Proven track record of cost reduction, project management and engineering design.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T principles.
  • Familiarity with NX, SolidWorks CAD or ProE.
  • Knowledge of optics principles related to CCD cameras, 2D and 1D lasers.
  • Working knowledge of robotics (6-axis and/or SCARA), pneumatics, servo motors, motion controllers, PLC and PC-based control systems.
  • Experience with JMP, Minitab & Six Sigma.
