About The Position

The Tax Associate, Core Tax Services is responsible for assisting with the preparation of tax returns and conducting research. This role requires effective communication and organizational skills to ensure compliance with tax regulations while minimizing tax burdens for clients. The associate will utilize tax software applications and collaborate with senior team members to complete tax-related projects efficiently.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics required; or a Bachelor's degree in another focus area with CPA certification required.
• Eligible to sit for CPA exams; progress towards EA or equivalent designation preferred.
• Leadership experience preferred.
• Accounting-based internship preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Ensure clients comply with all applicable tax authorities while minimizing tax burdens.
• Prepare required tax filings using a systematic review process to ensure compliance.
• Collect necessary data for tax filings and communicate any missing items.
• Utilize compliance software to enhance efficiency in tax preparation.
• Document significant tax positions and assist with income tax provisions.
• Develop and recommend methods to maximize client benefits and reduce taxes.
• Draft clear and concise memorandums and correspondence regarding tax issues.
• Identify potential tax issues or opportunities during the compliance process.
