The Ford Global Core STA Team is committed to delivering a world-class automotive supply base that produces best-in-class quality, the most efficiently and cost-effectively possible. Our diverse Global Core STA Team includes team members in North America, Europe, and Asia. It is comprised of manufacturing experts with specialties in body exterior, body interior, chassis, powertrain, and electrical. Together our team works to understand the changing manufacturing landscape, identify new opportunities, and take action to design and innovate for the future of mobility. In this position, you will leverage your manufacturing and technical expertise in High Pressure die Casting, Greensand molding, and Semi-permanent molding castings for structural, EV and ICE vehicle applications. You'll also support the Industrialization of our Global Suppliers with technical expertise as they invest and grow their business to support ours.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree
  • 3-5 years minimum HPDC/LPDC/SPM/Greens and process/manufacturing experience
  • Foundry operational experience in casting manufacturing processes and process control
  • 2 or more years of manufacturing experience
  • Working knowledge of AIAG PPAP, APQP, CQI-27, Control Plan etc. and Ford Customer Specific quality methodologies
  • Experience performing casting manufacturing feasibility assessments
  • Knowledge of problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel to supplier sites

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science/Engineering; MBA/MS preferred - Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical or Metallurgy/Materials Science
  • English (+Spanish plus) language fluently to effectively communicate with global teams
  • Advance knowledge of casting manufacturing process(es) with hands-on experience
  • Experience in the casting process planning, implementation and launch and secondary manufacturing operations (machining, assembly, etc)
  • Experience in project management and/or program launches preferred
  • 2 or more years of automotive manufacturing experience

Responsibilities

  • Engagement with external suppliers to drive robust Casting manufacturing process standard execution to deliver quality and delivery excellence
  • Collaborate with Research and PD to understand new technologies and how they might impact the supply base
  • In depth Casting process feasibility analysis for new supplier sites, new technology and high-risk commodities
  • Lead development, documentation and implementation of critical core STA deliverables during Industrialization planning and execution
  • Participate in Casting process standard governance, Tech Clubs, and supplier summits
  • Provide Casting process technical support during issue resolution to cascade supplier systemic quality, capacity, delivery, and manufacturing lessons learned to prevent recurrence
  • Collaborate with peers in Product Development, Research and Supply Chain to drive optimal sourcing decisions
