Requirements

Bachelors 1 year in research environment OR Masters in relevant field

Responsibilities

Daily QC, maintenance, troubleshooting and general upkeep of analyzers and cell sorters.
Performing daily quality control procedures.
Keep accurate, legible records to monitor instrument performance.
Create and design flow cytometry and cell sorting experiments as guided by Scientists/Researchers using the facility.
Provide assisted operation of analyzers and cell sorters.
Direct professional interactions with facility users for various applications.
Independent operation in a BSL2 level setting; knowledge of and adherence to standard cell sorting biosafety practices; interfacing with vendor service engineers; assisting in creating and editing facility standard operating procedures (SOPs) and training material.
Provide instrument and software training to new and established users with minimal supervision.
Train users in self-operation of instrumentation.
Perform routine laboratory duties including lab supplies, general lab upkeep, preparation of reagents, disposal of laboratory waste, and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment, including weekly sterilization and monthly cleaning protocols.
Ensure compliance with CoRE Standard Operating Procedures and Mount Sinai Policies where applicable and including safety, integrity, and legal policies.
Contribute to scientific discussion within the CoRE on an ad hoc basis.
