About The Position

The CORE Maker/Machine Operator is responsible for producing sand cores used in the production of aluminum castings. This role involves operating core making machinery, assisting in training co-workers, and maintaining a clean work area. The position requires attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions, ensuring quality and efficiency in the production process.

Requirements

• Must have High School diploma or GED
• Must be team-oriented
• Must be able to follow written and oral instruction
• Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Must be focused and have strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Operate core make machinery
• Assist in training co-workers
• Maintain a good attendance record
• Keep work area clean
• Load/unload cores and core pattern pieces into core make machinery
• Inspect own work for visual defects
• Learn identification numbers for all core boxes
• Record data as required on all internal documents
• Perform set-ups, attend to minor breakdowns and report other equipment conditions as necessary
• Sprinkle or spray parting agent onto pattern and flask, to facilitate removal of core from machine
• Perform housekeeping
• Repair damaged impressions
• Perform any and all other job related tasks as assigned
