About The Position

Development and launch damper components including validation, implementation guidelines, cost reductions, and standardization. This position provides the opportunity to develop product expertise, problem solving, analysis, and program management skills. • Design and validation of components in automotive shock absorbers used by OEM customers (including: GM, Ford, VW, Stellantis, and others) • Integrate technical requirements in new designs and design changes  • Define tasks, calculations and engineering simulations as well as validation tests required for the development of components and systems • Develop and direct changes to existing tests, procedures, standards, and specifications • Organize and request product/process prototypes and testing for validation • Analyze data and performance of designs, recommend actions • Gather information on new technologies, designs, solutions, and cost reduction ideas • Perform engineering functions including development of FMEAs, DVPs, 8Ds, stress analysis, etc. • Design/develop new engineering processes, techniques, methods, and standards • Identify opportunities for product and process standardization efforts, competitive analysis, and cost reductions (VA/VE) • Apply problem solving tools and development methods to enhance productivity and design quality (e.g., simulation, modeling, DOE, Six Sigma)

Requirements

  • Sound written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Flexibility for domestic and international travel to support plants and customers as required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Ability to work independently
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years engineering work experience

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree is preferred.
