About The Position

A Ceramic Core Finisher is responsible for the precise finishing, inspection, and preparation of ceramic cores used in investment casting processes. This role ensures that each core meets strict dimensional, surface, and quality standards before being delivered for casting.

  • High school education or equivalent life experience and three to six months related experience or training.
  • Ability to learn and to operate all injection machines and perform all functions of wax injection operation to include placement of patterns in wax setters or fixtures after injection.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules and work instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to record information on a daily basis.
  • Ability to speak and listen effectively to follow instructions in English.
  • Ability to write and speak complete sentences and understand verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Ability to add and subtract two- and three-digit numbers and to perform simple multiplication and division.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must regularly lift, push, pull and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, ability to distinguish between colors, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus to recognize defects in patterns
  • Due to government regulation only US persons (U.S. citizen, U.S. naturalized citizen, U.S. permanent resident, holder of U.S. approved political asylee or refugee status) may be considered for this role.
  • Any offer of employment will also be conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen in accordance with company policy and applicable federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Carefully file, smooth, and shape ceramic cores using hand tools, , and precision instruments.
  • Inspect cores for cracks, chips, or dimensional defects, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications.
  • Perform minor repairs (patch) or touch-ups to maintain product integrity.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following all safety protocols.
  • Document work that has been performed and report any quality issues to supervisors and team leads.
  • Must comply with internal Safety and 6S Standards
  • Complete understanding of Core Finishing processes (lvl I, II and III)
