Make a life-saving difference by joining LifeSouth Community Blood Centers as a Cord Blood Donation Recruitment Specialist in McDonough, GA. This position will work within the community and with hospital partners to bring awareness to the LifeSouth Cord Blood Bank program through public education and recruitment of donor moms.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license. Must also meet and maintain LifeSouth driver’s eligibility requirements
• Ability to primarily work first shift. Flexibility to work nights weekends and holidays, as necessary
• Exceptional communication skills
• Ability to interact with medical professional at every level
• Positive bedside manner and emotional intelligence with excellent customer service skills

Nice To Haves

• associate degree preferred
• Previous healthcare experience preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred

Responsibilities

• Review paperwork related to the collection process with the donor mom, and ensure paperwork is complete and accurate.
• Determine initial donor eligibility
• Train hospital staff, OB/GYNs and nurses to collect cord blood according to Standard Operating Procedures.
• Educate clinicians and potential donor moms on the cord blood donation process
• Ensure collected cord blood units and supplies used for collection are stored and shipped properly
• Maintain stock of supplies essential to job function
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with hospital staff
• Represent and communicate Cord Blood and LifeSouth favorably to the public and participating institutions
