About The Position

The Copywriter at Pechanga Resort Casino will be the primary writer within the Marketing Department, responsible for creating and editing compelling written content across various media platforms. This role requires a dynamic storyteller with a strong command of the English language, capable of adapting to different tones and styles while maintaining brand integrity. The Copywriter will collaborate with various stakeholders to support business objectives and enhance communication efforts, ensuring high-quality content that resonates with diverse audiences.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism or related field.
• At least 5 years of professional writing experience in corporate, agency, or news-related functions.
• Experience in casino, tourism, or hospitality preferred.
• Ability to write and edit in additional languages is a bonus.
• Superb English written and verbal communication skills.
• Superior copywriting and grammatical command including spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
• Ability to write in various voices, tones, and styles.
• Strong experience in writing projects within an in-house setting.
• Above 50 WPM typing speed.
• Proficient in MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, page layout programs, and web content management systems.
• Consistent attention to detail and ability to prioritize deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Generate and edit written material for Pechanga Resort Casino across multi-channel, platform, medium, and owned media.
• Deliverables include press releases, press materials, direct mail, brochures, sales packets, menus, website content, billboards, social media posts, digital ads, PSAs, company memos, editorials, advertising, promotional materials, emails, app messaging, and community messages.
• Work with marketing department stakeholders and clients to understand campaign objectives and delivery methods.
• Analyze existing communication efforts and recommend changes for effective communication.
• Participate in team brainstorms and contribute new ideas.
• Act as a liaison among all parties of interest while managing copy approvals.
• Learn and adapt quickly to become an authority on the brand voice.
• Provide proofreading and editing on assigned materials.
• Adhere to Pechanga Resort Casino brand language standards.
• Champion the Pechanga brand.
• Work with web team and agencies to maximize SEO value of copy.
• Communicate progress on projects based on budget, schedule, and obstacles.
• Advise on industry trends within writing and the resort/casino space.
• Source images and content as needed.
• Maintain current knowledge of writing and language trends.
• Perform other duties as required.
