About The Position

THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED A SALARY BETWEEN $44,545.00 - $51,227.00 The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services and provides subsidized childcare vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement, and programs for youth in the community. The Division of Administration provides a wide range of support services throughout ACS to ensure all Divisions receive adequate and efficient support services to carry out their respective missions. The Division of Administration (Admin) employs approximately 463 public employees. Admin manages a Personnel Services (PS) Budget of approximately $29M and an Other Than Personnel Services (OTPS) Budget (OTPS) of $140M. It provides services including building maintenance, real estate, design, construction management, facilities and custodial services, occupational safety and health, operational support, security, transportation, and print production. Support Services, within the Division of Administration, is responsible for the provision of transportation services; worker and workplace safety; agency continuity of operations planning; identifying staff support for several citywide continuity/ recovery operations; stocking and distributing Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs); overseeing bulk document reproduction services; confidential shredding; forms design, customization and control; and the provision of employee drinking water services. Further, it oversees the agency’s postal services, including USPS, UPS, Federal Express, messengers /contracted couriers. The Copy Center Operator’s responsibilities chiefly involve performing difficult and responsible clerical tasks with latitude for independent judgment, including, but not limited to the preparation, printing, collating, and sorting of production requests and packaging for manual retrieval and/or delivery by mail. Related work in various administrative areas will include but are not limited to case files, academy/training materials, highly confidential and sensitive materials/photographs related to the fatality/abuse of children that are needed in court, special sizes/requests in printing, stationery, reproduction (banners/posters) and distribution. Operators must be able to carry heavy items (up to 75 lbs.) and stand for prolonged periods and ensure that requests are processed in a timely and secure manner.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or
  • Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
  • Operators must be able to carry heavy items (up to 75 lbs.) and stand for prolonged periods and ensure that requests are processed in a timely and secure manner.

Responsibilities

  • Operate finishing and bindery machines to complete print production tasks.
  • Use a Heidelberg Polar cutter for custom jobs such as agency stationery and postcards.
  • Handle specialty projects by operating an offline paper drill puncher and a wide-format laminator for mounting posters and similar items.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks that involve prolonged standing, bending, reaching, lifting, and stacking printed materials into boxes or containers.
  • Transport items weighing up to 75 lbs. using hand trucks and manual or electric pallet jacks.
