About The Position

SumnerOne is seeking a Copier Technician to join our growing team in Lenexa, KS. In this role, you'll be responsible for preparing, configuring, and performing quality checks on new and refurbished copiers and multifunction printers (MFPs) before they're delivered to customers. From unpacking and setup to firmware updates and test prints, you'll ensure every machine leaves our warehouse in top working condition. This is a great opportunity for someone with mechanical aptitude who's looking to grow their skills in a technical environment. You'll gain experience working with industry-leading print technology, and collaborate closely with our service and delivery teams to support smooth installations across the region.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on technical work
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems and basic network configuration is a plus
  • Comfortable using hand tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Detail-oriented with time management and organization skills
  • Physically able to lift 50+ lbs and be on your feet throughout the day
  • Dependable, self-driven, and eager to learn
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and pass pre-employment screenings
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required to effectively communicate with clients, team members, and stakeholders, and to perform the essential functions of this role
  • Clean driving record and valid driver's license required
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs regularly

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with copiers, printers, IT hardware, or warehouse equipment preferred
  • Exposure to brands such as Konica Minolta, Canon, Ricoh, Sharp, or HP
  • Basic knowledge of copier functions: print, scan, copy, and fax
  • Coursework or certification (A+, IT Fundamentals, etc.) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Unpack, inspect, and assemble copier and MFP equipment for setup
  • Load firmware and perform initial configuration (IP settings, fax/email setup, defaults)
  • Run quality control checks including test prints, scans, and network functions
  • Clean, detail, and prep equipment for customer delivery
  • Stage equipment and related supplies for outgoing delivery or shipment
  • Work with service, delivery, and sales teams to ensure each machine is configured per customer specs
  • Keep accurate logs of serial numbers, machine status, and configuration details
  • Support basic warehouse tasks including supply handling and staging
  • Assist with light delivery duties as needed
