Our programs ensure that all Arizona students graduate high school ready to thrive in college and the 21st-century workforce. Access ASU is seeking a self-motivated, dynamic, and creative Coordinator with experience developing and facilitating outreach strategies that prepare students for enrollment and success at ASU across all campuses. The Coordinator is responsible for effectively implementing Access ASU programs and delivering high-quality support to students and families. In this role, the Coordinator will design and deliver workshops and programming that promote postsecondary education, while planning and coordinating activities in alignment with departmental priorities, timelines, and resources. The position plays a key role in executing initiatives that increase and support the recruitment of high school students to ASU. This includes coordinating on-campus visits and experiences for school partners and working closely with our student workers to ensure high-quality, well-organized events. This front-facing role collaborates closely with internal teams and community partners to advance Access ASU’s mission of expanding higher education opportunities for K–12 students and their families. Responsibilities include supporting school campus visits; creating and leading presentations, workshops, and large-scale college-readiness events; supporting and managing summer programs; communicating with student cohorts throughout their journey to ASU enrollment; and representing Access ASU at campus, school, and community events.

  • Assists with creating and developing curriculum, workshops, events, campus visits, summer programs, communication, and materials unique to Access ASU outreach programs, and strategies
  • Coordinates and manages requests for Outreach services and materials to K-12 schools andother partners.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other members of Outreach and K-12 schools, the community, ASU students, faculty, and staff to effectively implement strategies.
  • Trains staff and external partners to present high-quality college and career readiness programming to K-12 audiences.
  • Conducts and assists with the preparation of related program evaluation activities.
  • Recognize gaps or challenges of related Outreach activities and provide actionable input and recommendations to enhance or adjust practices.
  • Resolves issues relating to program development and implementation through verbal and written communication.
  • Analyzes research and literature to guide program and project decisions.
  • Works collaboratively with the Outreach team to further department goals.
  • Represents Outreach and serves on various department and university committees.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Assists in developing and coordinating outreach strategies to meet the goals of enrolling the full demographic of Arizona students with a focus on application, admittance and enrollment to ASU.
  • Access is constantly evolving, and this role will assume other duties as assigned based on team needs.
  • Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Evidence of a Master's degree.
  • Experience working with K-12 school and/or higher education systems.
  • Experience working with K-12th grade student populations.
  • Knowledge of issues affecting first generation students and families.
  • Strong knowledge of college readiness and career connected learning principles.
  • Proven ability to schedule and organize activities effectively without constant supervision.
  • Confidence and effective public speaking skills for large audiences.
  • Experience in student engagement efforts in a university setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing outreach strategies.
  • Experience and skills in public speaking.
  • Proficient in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience collecting and using data to inform decisions.
  • Highly organized and ability to complete and execute multiple tasks with competing deadlines with attention to detail.
