About The Position

Access ASU is dedicated to increasing access to higher education and preparing Arizona students for success through family engagement, strategic K-12 education, and community partnerships. Access ASU’s programs and initiatives are designed to ensure all Arizona students graduate high school ready to thrive in college and the 21st-century workforce. Access ASU seeks a dynamic, outgoing individual with experience in volunteer recruitment and a passion for educational outreach. The Coordinator for Access ASU – Outreach Experiences will play a key role in promoting higher education for Arizona communities, students, and families. This self-motivated Coordinator will lead the partnership between the SPARKS student organization and Access ASU, working closely with student leaders to inspire K–12 students to pursue their education at ASU. They will take initiative in recruiting, training, and supervising student volunteers, setting and achieving monthly recruitment goals, and maintaining strong engagement metrics. The Coordinator will also travel with SPARKS student leaders to local schools and community organizations to facilitate outreach visits and presentations. Beyond SPARKS, this position will support a wide range of departmental programming, including large-scale outreach events, campus visits, and summer programs. The Coordinator will design and deliver workshops that encourage postsecondary education, contribute to the planning and execution of K–12 recruitment efforts, and coordinate activities in alignment with department priorities, timelines, and resources. This position is highly front-facing and collaborative, working closely with community partners, schools, and internal ASU stakeholders to support all departmental initiatives. The Coordinator will actively advance Access ASU’s mission of increasing access to higher education and fostering a strong college-going culture across Arizona.This position will be essential in creating and executing programming to support the recruitment and engagement of high school students to ASU.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively Access ASU departments to support programs, events and outreach efforts through current ASU student participation.
  • Support program logistics such as training, event bookings, ride sharing, consistent and regular communication with internal and external partners, etc.
  • Review and update SPARKS website, training course, volunteer forms, social media, etc.
  • Develop, plan, implement and oversee the recruitment and retention process of SPARKS members.
  • Set and attain monthly recruitment goals, with the ability to adjust if necessary to meet the agreed upon recruitment goals.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to college student volunteers.
  • Supervise, coach and support staff members driving SPARKS, cohort engagement, and pipeline efforts forward.
  • Meet with campus partners, student services departments to promote SPARKS and student organization opportunities for involvement and volunteerism.
  • Develop strategic action plans in accordance with program objectives and based on data from multiple sources.
  • Gather, maintain, analyze, and submit frequent statistical data and reports related to SPARKS and student organization engagement for direct supervisor and executive team.
  • Demonstrate relentless commitment to customer service (external and internal), teamwork, recruitment and an outcomes-oriented model.
  • Support the team for all Access ASU initiatives, large scale events, campus visits, summer camps, etc.
  • Serve on various committees, boards and teams in support of Access ASU goals.
  • Travel to off-campus meetings and events regularly.
  • Access is constantly evolving and this role will assume other duties as assigned based on team needs.
