About The Position

Our Diagnostics business currently has an opportunity for a Warehouse Coordinator in our North Chicago, IL Office. The primary function of this job is to oversee and coordinate daily activities within Distribution Operations for both Abbott nonexempt and contract personnel to ensure compliance with Quality, Regulatory, Corporate and Departmental Guidelines, Training and Performance objectives. Distribution Operations is responsible for processing approximately 2500 orders for Diagnostic products daily both domestically and internationally. Warehousing Operations is responsible for receiving, storage and handling of commodities at the K2 warehouse. Ability to work through/ trouble shot through internal and external problems that can arise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in Logistics, Transportation, Distribution or Warehousing or Planning.

Nice To Haves

  • Able to read and understand English, perform math calculations, interpret data from tracking and trending metrics analysis.
  • Knowledge of warehousing/shipping transportation/logistics/planning needed to understand workflows, critical needs and to provide adequate direction to floor personnel.
  • Possess an in-department knowledge of warehousing/distribution functions which include receiving, storage and retrieval of commodities.
  • Good working knowledge of ADMS system and warehouse floor control systems.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills as well as the ability to analyze and problem solve to resolve floor issues in a timely manner.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of GMP, FDA and ISO regulations as well as IATA and DOT regulations.
  • Good working knowledge of quality systems and metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Assist shift supervisor/manager with work assignments, movement of personnel and ensuring customer orders are processed appropriately to meet transportation regulations, carrier deadlines and customer receipt expectations.
  • Ensure manufacturing needs are met in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate training activities and assist shift supervisor with HR issues including performance appraisals, development plans and corrective counseling.
  • Follow up with freight forwarders, logistics and customer service to ensure commodities are shipped and received in a timely manner.
  • Perform analysis for complaints and performance data trending.
  • Implement and maintain quality systems.
  • Manage the consequences of failing to meet deadlines for completing orders or providing necessary commodities to manufacturing or shipping operations.
  • Ensure proper labeling and packaging to avoid fines or damage to product.
  • Ensure proper training of employees to avoid violations of procedures and poor quality.
  • Flexibility to work the on-call program / working periodic weekends.
