About The Position

Responsible for the overall coordination of volunteer programs and services to include program development for volunteer opportunities; recruitment, onboarding/orientation, and training of volunteers; as well as systems and records maintenance. Works closely with Auxiliary Volunteer Placement teams to support their efforts as well as supporting the volunteer workforce with requests. Primary point of contact for Student Volunteers, Survivors Offering Support (SOS) leadership and volunteers, as well as the Project Search program in conjunction with external partners.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree
  • Two years prior work experience involving program/event coordination. Experience with formstack or similar form building software.

Responsibilities

  • Seeks out new opportunities for creating and/or expanding volunteer service lines.
  • Works closely with hospital department contacts to ensure that volunteers are performing within standards/expectations. Troubleshoots issues that may arise, providing coaching/counseling as needed.
  • Develops and maintains external professional relationships serving as point of contact with school counselors and community organizations to aid in recruitment of volunteers.
  • Focuses on marketing efforts to include webpage, social media, printed materials, and participation in community events, representing the Volunteer Services programs of AAMC.
  • Responsible for onboarding/orientating Student Volunteers, SOS Volunteers, Project Search participants as well as other patient advisory/mentoring groups and assisting Volunteer Placement team, as needed.
  • Maintains volunteer database in order to accurately report volunteer hours as well as systems/data management necessary to onboard volunteers, ensure proper access (physical and electronic), monitoring compliance for annual requirements, as well as forms maintenance/updates.
