The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Division of Infrastructure is seeking a Coordinator (Sustainability) to join the Sustainable Coordination team. The selected candidate will assist in identifying risks and design issues for various infrastructure projects; assist with the team’s portfolio of capital projects, with an emphasis on storm water management and sustainable design; be the key contact for assigned projects throughout the scoping, design, and construction procurement phase; utilize the agency’s technical resources to ensure that their projects meet DDC’s Commitment Plan objectives; apprise their supervisors of scheduling, construction and design issues; liaise between contractor and DDC; maintain comprehensive project history files; coordinate project schedules; maintain and update the agency’s database regarding Infrastructure projects reviewed by Front End Planning; and assist with projects affecting Infrastructure design and master planning for sustainable design and help develop policies to support design excellence.

  • Only candidates who are permanent in the Assistant Landscape Architect title or those who are reachable on the open-competitive list (Exam #0167 or Exam#5017) may apply.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in landscape architecture from an accredited college or university, accredited by regional, national, professional or specialized agencies recognized as accrediting bodies by the U.S. Secretary of Education and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and one year of full-time satisfactory experience in landscape architectural work; or
  • A valid New York State Registration as a Landscape Architect.
