About The Position

The Coordinator/Sr Coordinator of Operations Communications and Issues Response is a key role within American Airlines' Global Engagement team, responsible for building and protecting the airline's brand and reputation. This position involves providing actionable insights and background information to support operations communications and respond to issues or crises, requiring the ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/training
• 2+ years of relevant work experience in handling customer issues and problem-solving

Nice To Haves

• 3 years of relevant work experience in Customer Relations or Reservations
• Experience in AACoRN, Sabre, ePNR, Advocate, ReAct360, Nexidia, CERS

Responsibilities

• Support rapid response communications throughout the airline, serving as a first point of contact for the Operations Communications and Issues Response team.
• Research and provide information that guides media response, while flagging and escalating issues in real time.
• Translate complex data into actionable insights and deliver timely information to inform communications strategies.
• Monitor Media Relations inbox and track media inquiries, issues, and incidents.
• Oversee and maintain databases, platforms, and processes that aid in rapid response.
• Support data-driven storytelling initiatives and prepare data for quarterly reporting.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues across the company.
