About The Position

OCDE's Educational Services Division is dedicated to supporting professional learning for Orange County school districts. Through our collective capacity, Educational Services provides high quality and sustainable professional learning that enhances the professional capital of the community we serve. We provide multi-tiered systems of support to the Orange County community that focus on academic, behavioral, and social success for all learners. We're looking for a dynamic Coordinator for Special Education to join our Systemic Leadership and Continuous Improvement (SLCI) Unit within the Educational Services Division. In this vital role, you'll lead professional development, consultation, and technical assistance for district leaders and school staff, working with a team of experts in California's Multi-Tiered System of Support (CA MTSS), Community Schools, and Continuous Improvement. You'll play a key role in guiding district and school staff in implementing inclusive, evidence-based teaching practices across special education settings, supporting the growth and success of every student.

Requirements

• Master's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in education.
• Five (5) years of increasingly responsible educational experience including two (2) years of administrative and/or leadership service in a public school setting.
• A valid California credential authorizing instruction or service in a public school program.
• A valid California Administrative credential may be required for some assignments.

Responsibilities

• Lead professional development for district leaders and school staff.
• Provide consultation and technical assistance in CA MTSS, Community Schools, and Continuous Improvement.
• Guide implementation of inclusive, evidence-based teaching practices in special education settings.
