About The Position

As Coordinator, HRIS & Payroll you will be responsible for ensuring payroll for the Americas and HRIS activities are timely and accurately achieved for multiple South32 projects and offices while demonstrating the operational discipline required to meet agreed service delivery model requirements, risk management and South32 operating systems, while continuing to identify, plan, track and monitoring ongoing improvements.  This role is based at the Tucson, AZ office.

Requirements

  • Minimum three plus (3+) years’ experience as a Payroll and HRIS professional
  • Relevant degree or appropriate experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge in U.S. payroll requirements, with a solid understanding of tax withholding and reporting requirements; ability and desire to learn and payroll statutory and legislative requirements in locations in north and south America.
  • Proficient in payroll processing platforms (i.e. ADP, SAP, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience to assess, evaluate and establish mitigations to operational issues and risks; including the Business Contingency and Disaster Recovery plans.
  • Develops effective relationships with clients (internal) by anticipating, understanding and responding to their needs to ensure their ongoing satisfaction and external partners (ADP representatives, benefits provider representatives, etc.) to ensure effective levels of support to meet the requirements of the business

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Canadian and/or Chilean payroll a plus
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day administration of imbedded HRIS systems (SAP, SuccessFactors, Versa, ADP)
  • Providing line leader support for the end-to-end HR Operations delivery and be touchpoint for escalations
  • Execute the payroll, month end reporting, and year end processes in accordance relevant payroll calendars, ensuring all payroll activities (payroll, tax withholdings, benefits premiums, etc.) are processed accurately and timely for regularly scheduled payroll activities as well as off-cycle payroll activities when required.
  • Ensure compliance to all internal controls, agreements, systems, standards and procedures as well as legislative requirements and statutory reporting
  • Provide support to the annual benefits enrollment process
  • Onboarding & offboarding support for workforce
  • Complex HRIS & payroll query support
  • Provide assistance with internal and external audit requirements
