St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Ann Arbor, Michigan is seeking a dedicated and organized individual for the part-time position of Coordinator of Worship. This role is essential for the coordination and implementation of parish liturgies, ensuring that all aspects of worship are conducted smoothly and in accordance with Catholic teachings. The Coordinator of Worship will work closely with the Pastor and other members of the Pastoral Team to prepare for daily and weekend Masses, as well as special Holy Days and Feast Days. This position requires a collaborative spirit, a professional demeanor, and a strong understanding of Catholic Sacraments and teachings. The Coordinator will be responsible for the preparation of various liturgical materials, including weekly Welcome & Universal Prayers, Mass Intention Sheets, and the scheduling of deacons and liturgical ministers. Additionally, the Coordinator will plan and oversee parish and school penance services, prepare worship aids for significant liturgical seasons, and coordinate funerals, weddings, and Quinceañera Masses. The role involves a degree of seasonal variability, with increased responsibilities during major feasts and holidays such as Christmas and Easter Triduum, and a lighter workload during the summer months. In addition to liturgical coordination, the Coordinator of Worship will also focus on the recruitment and training of liturgical ministers, including Altar Assistants, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, and Readers. This includes organizing ministry enrichment and training programs throughout the year. The Coordinator will oversee the Art & Environment Committee, ensuring that the church is appropriately decorated for various liturgical seasons and events. Regular communication with volunteers and parishioners is essential, as is the ability to maintain orderly accounts and records related to liturgical items and supplies. The position also includes administrative responsibilities such as writing articles for the Sunday bulletin, preparing quarterly and yearly goals, and attending Pastoral Team meetings. The Coordinator may occasionally cover the front desk or main phone line as needed. This role is integral to fostering a vibrant worship community within the parish and requires a commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic Church.
