The Practical Nursing Program is seeking a leader to maintain and enhance the effectiveness of the program through curriculum development, student outcome assessment, and compliance with state and federal regulations. The role involves providing leadership in licensing processes, program approval visits, and continuous monitoring for compliance with applicable laws and standards. The successful candidate will establish policies and procedures, recruit and supervise faculty, and coordinate with clinical sites to ensure quality education for students. Additionally, the position requires promoting the program, participating in college events, and assisting with grant submissions to support program expansion.

  • Maintain an effective Practical Nursing Program by providing leadership in curriculum development and improvement.
  • Provide leadership in the Practical Nursing Program, including licensing processes and program approval visits.
  • Review and monitor the Practical Nursing Program for compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Establish policy/procedures for the Practical Nursing Program and clinical sites.
  • Establish and maintain clinical partnerships for student placements.
  • Recruit, hire, and supervise licensed nursing faculty and administrative staff.
  • Coordinate with the Simulation Lab Coordinator and faculty to manage nursing simulation/skills labs.
  • Supervise student performance practices at clinical sites to ensure learning outcomes are met.
  • Implement student selection and admission policies and validate transfer credits.
  • Promote and represent the Practical Nursing Program at local and national conferences.
  • Participate in program-related college events.
  • Identify and assist with grant submissions to enhance the Practical Nursing Program.
  • Teach the approved theory and clinical curriculum to prepare students.
  • Network with community and industry partners to maintain a strong advisory board.
  • Arrive on time for work and attend work regularly.
  • Serve actively on campus committees.
  • Comply with HutchCC policies and procedures.
  • A current, active, and unencumbered RN license from the United States or an equivalent international license.
  • Master's degree in nursing required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years teaching experience in a Practical Nursing Program.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in the practice of the profession, including at least three (3) years of clinical experience.
  • Three (3) years of nursing education administration, licensing processes, and accreditation experience desired.
  • Experience supervising staff.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with a diverse population.
  • Ability to work in a multi-task team environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in English; bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
  • Ability to travel and work flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Physical requirements include excellent listening and organizational skills.
  • Mental requirements include the ability to learn and comprehend basic instructions.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
  • Experience in nursing education administration.
  • Salary commensurate with qualifications.
  • 12 months annual position (261 work days per fiscal year).
