About The Position

The Coordinator of Student Well-Being at Bates College is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and assessment of health education programming and campus-wide well-being initiatives. This role involves supporting partnerships across various departments to integrate well-being practices into student life and providing clinical case management for students facing complex health challenges. The Coordinator plays a crucial role in promoting health and well-being among students through proactive programming and support services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in residence life, health promotion, public health, social work, or case management.
  • Demonstrated success in supporting students from underrepresented groups.
  • Experience in collaborative office environments with shifting tasks and priorities.
  • Experience in peer-to-peer educational models and assessment practices.
  • Experience in case management and supporting students in maintaining healthy behaviors.
  • Training in mediation, conflict resolution, or restorative practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in facilitating health promotion and violence prevention practices.
  • Familiarity with data management systems and basic computer software.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and implementation of health education programming and well-being initiatives.
  • Support the Integrated Well-Being Team by managing programming and administrative tasks.
  • Train and manage campus partners to provide support to student interest groups.
  • Facilitate the mission and activities of the Integrated Well-Being Team.
  • Manage partnerships with Bates Health Services, Department of Athletics, and Counseling & Psychological Services.
  • Conduct annual education and data collection modules related to health promotion.
  • Develop training modules for professional staff in residence life.
  • Oversee assessment practices for health education programs and initiatives.
  • Supervise shared inboxes and communication platforms for student inquiries.
  • Provide medical and psychiatric case management for students with complex needs.
