About The Position

The Coordinator of Risk Management and Employee Benefits is responsible for analyzing, planning, managing, and articulating the operation of the District's insurance, loss control, fringe benefits, safety, and risk-related programs. This role ensures compliance with laws, rules, and policies while maximizing benefits to the School Board and its employees at minimal cost. The position requires knowledge in various areas including risk management, employee benefits, financial analysis, and modern safety practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, public administration, or a related field with an emphasis in risk management preferred.
  • CPCU (Certified Property Casualty Underwriter) or ARM (Associate in Risk Management) preferred.
  • Five (5) years of experience in employee benefits, risk management, claims, insurance, liability, or underwriting.
  • Experience with database, spreadsheets, word processing, and payroll program applications.
  • Valid Florida driver's license.
  • Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and manage the District's insurance and risk-related programs.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and policies regarding employee benefits and risk management.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding risk management and employee benefits.
  • Utilize computer software for data management and reporting.
  • Supervise and support employees in the risk management department.
