About The Position

The MassLINKS Part-Time Advisor at Mount Wachusett Community College is responsible for coordinating and delivering services that support student success within the MassLinks Adult Education Online Academy. This role involves conducting workshops, developing career plans, and facilitating access to community support services, all aimed at enhancing the educational experience for adult learners. The advisor will work closely with students to navigate complex systems and ensure they have the resources needed for successful engagement in their educational and career paths.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Social Welfare, Counseling, or closely related field.
  • Three years of experience in counseling, personal/academic advisement, non-traditional student interaction, welfare procedures, or program management, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Experience developing/delivering outreach and communication plans.
  • Experience with remote communication tools.
  • Experience with shared document systems (Microsoft 365, Google Workspace for Education, etc.).
  • Previous experience working with adult learners.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and record comprehensive career development plans for students enrolled at the MassLinks Adult Education Online Academy at MWCC.
  • Utilize knowledge of statewide priority industries to coordinate the creation of comprehensive academic and career plans.
  • Conduct workshops and information sessions for students aligned to program curriculum and student success initiatives.
  • Incorporate regional Labor Market Information into academic and career plans.
  • Provide support for continuing and returning students of the MassLinks Adult Education Online Academy.
  • Support the assessment needs of the program as assigned by the President's Designee.
  • Coordinate and provide assistance to students transitioning to credit-bearing academic coursework.
  • Utilize technology consistent with high-quality academic advising services such as Advisor Link, TargetX, and DegreeWorks.
  • Utilize the technology required of Adult Education programs in Massachusetts such as LACES.
  • Make appropriate and timely referrals to internal and external partners in support of student success.
  • Collaborate with staff at partner agencies to ensure eligible individuals access services across agencies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across both AE and ESOL services to support collaborative efforts.
