About The Position

Florida State University is currently in the leadership phase of a comprehensive campaign. As the leadership phase of the campaign begins, the Division of University Advancement is accelerating the hiring of additional advancement services professionals' campus-wide and is excited to build out its team. For Advancement professionals who are interested in being a part of a comprehensive campaign from the beginning for their career development, the timing is ideal to join our team. This campus-based position is responsible for supporting Seminole Clubs and Chapters (as assigned) in volunteer engagement and program implementation. The Coordinator of Regional Engagement works closely with club leaders and volunteers to provide training, resources, and guidance; facilitate engagement opportunities across the state and beyond; develop and implement best practices for volunteer leadership; and ensure compliance with university policies. This position requires regular travel to engage with clubs and manage volunteers in areas with high concentrations of alumni, located outside the university's city. The coordinator strengthens the connection between the university, its alumni, and alumni networks through strategic, data-informed volunteer engagement initiatives.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)
  • A valid Florida or Georgia Driver's License or the ability to obtain upon hire
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends and be willing to drive and travel.
  • This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.

Responsibilities

  • Travel throughout the year to meet with Seminole Club leadership to provide board meeting support, deliver ongoing training, and ensure compliance with university policies.
  • Present to volunteers on best practices, university and Division of University Advancement priorities, and strategies for effective club management.
  • Develop and facilitate onboarding and training for new and returning volunteers to ensure strategic alignment with University goals.
  • Collaborate with the Volunteer Engagement team to identify clubs or regions that may benefit from additional training, strategic guidance, or engagement support.
  • Coordinate leadership transitions with Seminole Clubs and their leaders by implementing succession planning and promoting best practices.
  • Develop processes and policies that align with established Volunteer Engagement standards to ensure consistency, compliance, and strong program support across all clubs.
  • Partner with the Clubs Fiscal Specialist to confirm assigned clubs meet all financial and operational requirements.
  • Maintain awareness of FSU Athletics, Boosters, and Foundation initiatives to ensure timely communication and alignment of relevant information and opportunities with club leaders and volunteers.
  • Manage internal data to inform University Advancement and Volunteer Engagement strategies that increase alumni participation and strengthen volunteer recruitment and retention.
  • Analyze and identify trends from data collection and reporting to provide actionable insights for internal partners and volunteer leaders.
  • Implement innovative solutions for club activities to improve engagement and data accuracy.
  • Ensure clubs consistently capture attendee and engagement data at events and that this information is entered into the university's CRM system to advance overall engagement and participation goals.
  • Reinforce collaborative and supportive relationships with the university's colleges, schools, and units (campus partners).
  • Collaborate on the planning and programming of the annual Volunteer Leadership Summit, providing input on content, developing relevant training materials, and communicating key information to club volunteers.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement communications and serve as a liaison for DUA Communications team and club leaders to ensure cohesive messaging.
  • Stay up to date on regional engagement and club best practices and contribute to building innovative approaches to volunteer and regional engagement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Seminole Clubs and/or the Senior Director of Volunteer Engagement and Outreach.
  • Partner with appropriate staff on FSU's Great Give to advise and educate Clubs on setting their projects and goals.
  • Provide guidance on nomination, mentorship, virtual engagement, and other Association-focused opportunities to help club volunteers stay informed and connected to the university.
