About the position

The mission of the Office of Student Success is to empower students in the classroom, toward commencement, and for their calling. Reporting to the Dean of Student Success, this position will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Office, assisting the Dean of Student Success in maintaining existing and developing future services, programs, events, resources, and outreach.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate communication between Office leadership and other entities on campus.
  • Assist in management of front desk operations and student workers.
  • Coordinate the hiring and onboarding processes for the office.
  • Manage and track budget allocation and expenditures, under the direction of Office leadership.
  • Provide administrative support for Office leadership.
  • Manage office branding and marketing in web, social media, and print applications.
  • Coordinate academic honors preparation and planning for commencement activities.
  • Plan, execute, and manage office events in collaboration with office leadership.
  • Coordinate processes and procedures to maintain the efficiency of the office.
  • Assist in project management for office initiative as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to live and uphold the University's Christ-centered mission and values.
  • Ability to set direction and relate to others with a sense of caring.
  • Ability to be empathetic to the needs of a culturally diverse student body.
  • Ability to communicate a sense of mission and commitment to the personal development of college students.
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
  • Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues.
  • A thorough knowledge of Business English and arithmetic; general office methods, procedures and practices.
  • Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects.
  • Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position.
  • Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent telephone courtesy knowledge and experience.
  • Knowledge of standard budgeting and expenditure control procedures and documentation.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures.
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
  • Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.
