The Pam Rector Center for Service and Action (CSA) is a student hub for community service and social justice at Loyola Marymount University. CSA welcomes and celebrates students from diverse backgrounds. We provide students opportunities to expand their community outside of LMU through engagement with local and global community partners. Reporting to the Associate Director of Community and Academic Engagement in the Pam Rector Center for Service and Action (CSA), the Coordinator of Operations and Administration provides important operational and administrative support to all CSA staff members. The position supports the business operations of the department including, but not limited to, budget administration and management, facilities and vehicle fleet management, the LMU Food Pantry, staff onboarding, student staff onboarding and supervision, business operations training, and operational policy and procedure development, maintenance, and compliance.

  • Manage the operation of the LMU Food pantry, including managing the acquisition of food and ensuring consistent stocking while following health standards.
  • Work regularly with nonprofit partners who provide fresh produce and other items for the pantry.
  • Manage the operations of CSA's vehicle fleet, overseeing van usage requests for community service activities.
  • Collaborate with Facilities Maintenance to ensure proper maintenance and functionality of fleet vehicles.
  • Collaborate with Risk Management to ensure new driver certification processes are followed.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day management of the student staff in the Center, including hiring, supervision, scheduling, and training of 30+ student staff annually.
  • Schedule student support staff to provide optimal coverage for daily and peak operating periods.
  • Manage the logistical aspects of Center for Service and Action programming for large events such as The Community Service Fair and Community Service Awards.
  • Establish effective project communication plans and processes and ensure their execution.
  • Manage budgeting processes and forecasting for the Center under the supervision of the Director.
  • Support all staff in the completion of financial processes such as check requests, wire transfers, and deposits.
  • Manage all operations of the Center for Service and Action Office Suite and associated facilities.
  • Ensure adequate supplies are on hand and appropriate setups for meetings and events.
  • Manage CSA's technology inventory, purchasing, and training needs.
  • Design and produce informational and marketing materials for the CSA, including managing the CSA website and social media platforms.
  • Serve on Student Affairs and University-wide Committees as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Typically, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of operations and administrative experience in an education environment.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Ability to plan, organize and execute event operations and oversee administrative needs.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and maintain a detail-oriented approach.
  • Ability to prepare reports and other documents efficiently.
  • Desire and ability to lead and mentor students.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills.
  • A sense of humor and a desire to be a part of a team that serves students and nonprofit community partners.
  • Salary range $25.19 - $31.49, commensurate with education and experience.
