About The Position

The Coordinator of International Student Advising is a pivotal role within the International (F1) Student Program (ISP) division at Indiana Wesleyan University. This position is responsible for overseeing and providing exceptional care, advising, and support to ISP (F1) students from their initial enrollment through to graduation and beyond, including post-graduation activities such as Optional Practical Training (OPT) and the OPT-STEM extensions. The coordinator will play a key role in developing ongoing advising policies and procedures in collaboration with the entire ISP advising team, ensuring that the overall student experience is positive and conducive to degree completion and post-completion options. In addition to advising, the coordinator will manage registration changes for ISP students, helping to navigate their academic schedules effectively. This role also involves assisting the Graduation team with unique challenges faced by the ISP student population. A critical aspect of this position is to provide high-level customer service and problem resolution for the unique challenges that F1 students encounter, balancing advocacy for the students with the need to uphold the university's standards and maintain compliance with SEVP guidelines. The coordinator will also contribute to establishing an online international community that reflects the values and practices of IWU's National and Global mission of learning, loving, praying, and sharing.
