About The Position

The Coordinator of Global Engagement at Western Carolina University plays a vital role in enhancing the department's outreach and branding. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Refined communication skills (written and verbal) and intercultural competence.
  • Strong computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Office and Banner.
  • Ability to adapt to study abroad and international student management platforms.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support overall department branding and outreach, including the departmental website and social media.
  • Draft and edit communications for the office.
  • Oversee budget activities for WCU Global accounts.
  • Assist with WCU Passport services.
  • Compile and organize study abroad, international student, international scholar/faculty, and passport facility information for assessment and continuous improvement.
  • Report to external organizations and agencies.
  • Maintain agreements, contracts, and professional memberships for the department and individual staff.
  • Coordinate travel authorization and visual compliance/export controls, as well as reimbursements.
  • Guide student workers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission of WCU Global Engagement.
