About The Position

The job of Coordinator of Fine Arts is done for the purpose/s of assisting the Executive Director of Teaching & Learning and Directors of Curriculum to provide leadership and support of the district’s K-12 fine arts curriculum and programs. This position reports to the Executive Director of Teaching & Learning.

Requirements

  • Job-related experience within specialized field with increasing levels of responsibility is required

  • Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in job-related area preferred
  • Teaching experience (3-5 years) in a fine arts area
  • School/District leadership experience preferred
  • Arizona administrative certification preferred
  • Teaching certificate

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Executive Director of Teaching & Learning for the purpose of the development and continuous review of the K-12 fine arts curriculum and programs.
  • Coordinates the work of curriculum committees and curriculum specialists for the purpose of developing and implementing the K-12 fine arts curriculum.
  • Works closely with the Director of Professional Development to deliver high quality staff development regarding fine arts areas.
  • Facilitates committees and subcommittees.
  • Develops strong personal relationships with teachers, principals, District administrators and community members while supporting the District’s vision and goals.
  • Develops relationships with and serves as liaison with community fine arts organizations.
  • Develops proposals and funding applications for the purpose of enhancing resources enabling expansion of services to staff and students across school levels.
  • Develops recommendations and plans for the use of financial resources for the purpose of monitoring expenditures within assigned budget areas.
  • Coordinates evaluation, selection, and ordering of fine arts textbooks, resources, equipment, and materials following district policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates participation in and scheduling of fine arts extracurricular programs, festivals, and events.
  • Makes classroom visits and attends district fine arts events for the purpose of providing input to teachers and principals.
  • Works closely with the Communications Department to develop and maintain a webpage to inform parents and community of programs, events, and other student opportunities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned for the purpose of supporting district objectives.
