About The Position

If so, the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Engagement within Dean of Students Office (DSO) is seeking a full-time Coordinator of Council and Chapter Operations! This position will be hired as a Student Services Specialist I and will report directly to the Assistant Dean of Students for Development and Student Leadership and Director of Sorority and Fraternity Engagement. The successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate incredible teamwork, have the desire to be highly engaged with students, and represent the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Engagement and Dean of Students Office. This role requires flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as part of our commitment to providing consistent support. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or related field.
  • Familiarity with sororities and/or fraternities (can include membership).
  • Experience planning and/or coordinating events.
  • Experience working in student affairs.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and coordination of sorority and fraternity civic engagement efforts, including event registration, the back-to-school drive, trick-or-treat event, day of service, and the annual Polar Plunge fundraiser.
  • Contributes to assessment processes measuring the outcomes of civic engagement programs.
  • Serve as a primary advisor to one of Iowa State's four governing council (CPC, IFC, MGC, NPHC) and coach a variety of chapters across the community.
