SUMMARY The Coordinator Behavioral Health Services serves as key liaison in a collaborative, recovery-oriented, evidence-based integrated employment service. They provide oversight of the day-to-day operation of the New Haven Work Services & Supportive Housing Vocational Programs.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in human Services, Special Education or related field is preferred.
  • Experience working with persons with chronic mental health issues in a community based day or employment program.
  • A high school diploma and four years of employment support experience will be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • CPR, First Aid, and PMT certification (where required)
  • Valid CT Drivers’ License
  • Valid CT Registration on personal vehicle
  • Valid Auto Insurance on personal vehicle

Responsibilities

  • Support participants in any Behavioral Health Program when there are staff vacancies or staff on leave.
  • Maintain comprehensive vocational case records for individuals on caseload, while having a case load
  • Serve as supervisor under the Behavioral Health staff hierarchy
  • Provide leadership to Marrakech staff in the development and implementation of employment strategies within a person-centered Recovery Plan
  • Work in collaboration with a LMHA clinical team and carry out clinical recommendations, track data, review progress, modify and report on individualized recovery plans as recommended by the team
  • Conduct job development and placement activities
  • Conduct Outreach and Engagement support to the Outreach and Engagement Case Manager
  • Educate other team members on employment principles to facilitated an integrated approach to employment outcomes
  • Conduct employment related assessment activities to generate recommendations for job placement
  • Assure that each of the Behavioral Health staff carries out his/her responsibilities with regard to this function
  • Review and supervise the implementation of recovery plans to assure attention to dimensions of recovery, cultural competence and evidence-based practices
  • Assist Director with the coordination and schedule training and time off for Behavioral Health Staff
  • Assure that services are provided in accordance with evidence-based practices for supported employment, recovery, dual diagnosis, engagement, etc. as well as promising practices with regard to Peer Mentoring
