Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in nursing.
• Two years of experience as a Registered Nurse, of which one year must be in IV therapy and one year in an intensive care unit.
• Must have a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.

Responsibilities

• Assesses chronically, acutely and critically ill patients who have some degree of malnutrition.
• Participates in planning and implementing nutritional support therapies, tube feedings and the intravenous administration of nutrients.
• Oversees nursing care of patients receiving parenteral and enteral nutritional support and ensures adherence to nutritional support guidelines.
• Monitors patient response to therapy and evaluates the effectiveness of the nutritional support care plans.
• Serves as a resource person to physicians, nurses, patients and family members.
