About The Position

The North Orange County (NOC) Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) and member districts foster coordination between general and special education for prevention and early intervention of suspected disabilities. The NOC SELPA also ensures appropriate education services for individuals with disabilities by working cooperatively with other public and private agencies to support a full complement of special education services for students. The Orange County Department of Education is the Administrative Unit for the NOC SELPA, serving the cities of Buena Park, Fullerton, La Habra and part of Whittier. The NOC SELPA office is located in the city of Fullerton. The NOC SELPA is recruiting for a dynamic professional to serve as our Coordinator. This individual will support the OCDE values and mission statement by providing professional development and consulting with special education and general education staff at the school district level to plan programs, coordinate curricular resources, as well as evaluate the effectiveness of interventions for individuals with exceptional needs.

Requirements

  • Four (4) years of increasingly responsible educational experience involving general and special education programs.
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • A valid California credential authorizing service in a public school program and/or a credential authorizing services as a clinician or specialist or Pupil Personnel Services credential.

Nice To Haves

  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certification.
  • Pupil Personnel Services Credential with a specialization in School Psychology.
  • Valid CA Administrative Credential.
