As a Coordinator for Music Programming at SiriusXM, you will play a crucial role in the creation and execution of superior radio programs. This part-time position involves collaborating with the Music Programming team to support creative processes, content development, and production. You will utilize both your creative abilities and technical skills to edit materials and operate an audio board, ensuring that the programming meets the high standards expected by our listeners. Your responsibilities may span across multiple programs, allowing you to engage in various functions across different channels, enhancing your versatility and experience in the field. In this role, you will receive daily assignments from the Manager of Music Programming Operations and Program Directors, gaining hands-on experience with music scheduling software and automation systems. You will develop skills in audio editing, including fades and inserting digital markers that enhance the listening experience based on the selected music and channel genre. Additionally, you will be responsible for loading audio elements into the music automation system and accurately entering royalties related to songs. Your role will also involve pulling listener requests and calls from electronic webmail, ensuring that on-air hosts receive daily music logs and updated talent schedules generated from the scheduling software. Monitoring assigned specialty programming for content and technical quality control will be a key part of your duties, as you verify the accurate start times of programs and prepare content for On Demand. As an In Studio Producer, you will ensure that live broadcasts run smoothly by maintaining proper audio levels, firing elements at the right times, and troubleshooting any technical issues that arise under pressure. You may also assist the Program Director with writing station imaging, promos, and selecting specific music, as well as writing, obtaining, recording, scheduling, and archiving Artist IDs and interviews. Your role will also include assisting with the coordination of music projects by compiling research data and learning to interpret this data effectively. Participation in music meetings will be expected, where you will monitor format charts, trade journals, and music sales figures to stay informed about your assigned formats. Additionally, you may act as a liaison to music artists during celebrity visits and communicate with music labels as directed by management.
