About The Position

The position involves monitoring and maintaining the operating room inventory and related duties at BronxCare Health System. The role requires establishing and maintaining positive relationships with patients, visitors, and other employees, ensuring professional and courteous interactions. The individual will contribute to performance and quality improvement activities within the department, including data collection and compliance with various safety and risk management policies. Responsibilities also include ordering supplies, maintaining an accurate inventory control system, and overseeing the organization of stockrooms and supply closets.

Requirements

  • One (1) year experience in Inventory Management
  • Knowledgeable concerning inventory requirements at all divisions
  • Good Customer Service skills
  • Bachelor’s in Business Administration or related field
  • Computer literate

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, and other employees.
  • Contribute to and participate in the Performance/Quality Improvement activities of the assigned department.
  • Order daily supplies using the Keane System.
  • Establish and maintain an accurate inventory control system for all storage areas in the department.
  • Perform random counts of inventory to meet department needs.
  • Receive daily deliveries and restock the stockroom supply closets, Code room, and Patient exam rooms.
  • Organize and maintain the stockroom according to accepted infection control practices.
  • Oversee Assistant Coordinators.
  • Develop a preventive maintenance schedule with Biomed.
  • Perform daily rounds with ED Nursing Patient Care Manager to identify problems and supplies needed.
  • Work closely with Biomed to identify and repair broken equipment.
  • Develop ordering Par levels.
  • Rotate supply inventory to minimize expired stock.
  • Maintain supply stockroom in an orderly, neat, and organized fashion.
  • Recommend inventory control improvements.
  • Assist in the annual physical inventory of supplies and equipment.
