About The Position

The Coordinator of Integrated Arts provides leadership in the development and implementation of curriculum and instruction in Music, Dance, Theater, and Visual Arts. This role supervises professional staff and ensures that all arts programs align with system-wide goals and priorities. The Coordinator maintains continual expertise in progressive, culturally responsive, and student-centered pedagogy across the Integrated Arts and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree.
  • Five years' teaching or related experience.
  • Three years' leadership/management experience in an education setting.
  • Possession of a Maryland Educator Advanced Professional Certificate with Administrator I endorsement or eligibility for the same.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the development of curriculum in the integrated arts for pre-kindergarten through grade 12.
  • Provides leadership in identifying evidence-based strategies to support student-centered instruction.
  • Develops curriculum-embedded assessments for mastery of state and national standards.
  • Arranges countywide enrichment opportunities for Integrated Arts students.
  • Coordinates countywide events, showcases, and exhibitions for student achievement.
  • Designs and facilitates professional learning experiences for Integrated Arts programs.
  • Selects and approves resources to support Integrated Arts programs.
  • Assists with the implementation of integrated arts programs in collaboration with school leaders.
  • Develops partnerships with local cultural institutions and community arts organizations.
  • Collaborates with state art education associations for student participation in events.
  • Communicates with families and advisory organizations.
  • Develops and interprets countywide policies regarding Integrated Arts programs.
  • Administers budgets and monitors business operations for resource efficiency.
  • Supports recruitment and retention of high-quality arts educators.
  • Provides information and strategies to parents and community stakeholders.
  • Evaluates performance and professional growth of staff within Integrated Arts.
  • Supervises maintenance and equipment needs of the BCPS piano and instrument shop.
  • Represents BCPS in local, state, and national forums related to Integrated Arts education.
