This is a fully on-site position, Monday through Friday, at our corporate HQ in Tempe, Arizona. About the team and position Carvana’s HR Operations team provides top-notch HR policy and compliance guidance, and employee relations support to the organization’s employees and managers. This includes responding to and supporting employee and manager complaints, investigations, and corrective actions, while also maintaining I-9 & HR Compliance Functions. As a Human Resources Operations Coordinator, you’ll play an important role on the team by performing a number of administrative activities related to our I-9 & HR Compliance Function. You’ll tap into your attention to detail, organization, communication, and customer-focus skills to help the team stay effective and efficient with our I-9 completion processes, and audit readiness.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of work experience in a Human Resources, Administrative Assistant or Customer Service capacity.
  • Ability to work independently and with a high level of accuracy, initiative, organization, and self-motivation.
  • Keen attention to professional email etiquette, especially regarding the transmission of sensitive data.
  • Effective (verbal and written) communication skills.
  • Highest level of customer service and sense of urgency.
  • Superior attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to consistently and appropriately use discretion regarding confidential and sensitive personnel data.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Hiring is contingent on passing a complete background check.
  • This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for end-to-end I-9 compliance, providing guidance on complex citizenship and immigration statuses, and ensuring continuous ICE audit readiness.
  • Facilitate daily I-9 workflows and completion for a diverse workforce of employees across Carvana’s Tempe HQ, and 400+ field locations nationwide.
  • Manage the lifecycle of employment authorizations, from auditing expiring documents to supporting visa sponsorship workstreams.
  • Provide exceptional care to internal and external customers and maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion with sensitive information.
  • Execute daily administrative processes related to the employee lifecycle.
  • Develop, maintain, and utilize a functional knowledge of Carvana’s policies and procedures.
  • Answer routine employee-related inquiries, including basic policy and procedure questions, and route ownership of more involved or complex inquiries to the appropriate parties.
  • Contribute to potential process improvements where applicable.
  • Other responsibilities and projects as assigned by leadership.
